5 Health and Wellness Tips for Spring!

1. Hot water and Lemon
Start your day with hot water and lemon to help alkalize your body and cleanse toxins, a simple ritual that has so many benefits.

2. Add a Juice into your daily routine
Think greens mainly, dark leafy goodness. Spinach, kale, parsley, celery, ginger, lemon…..maybe carrot or orange for those of you who want a little sweet edge, better still, beetroot.
Green juices are packed with nutrition, produce chlorophyll which oxygenates your body and enables us to release stored toxins. A green juice will cleanse your digestive system, lungs, liver and uterus. Liquid sunshine!

3. Set an intention each morning
Awaken from your sleep gently…before you rush into the mental plans and goings on for the day…STOP and ask yourself, ‘What do I want to feel today, how do I want to approach this day?’
Allow one word to bubble up and guide you through your experiences, interactions and choices for the day ahead.

4. Move your body
The best time to move your body is now! Shed that winter coat, make space, increase your energy levels and feel great!!
YOGA – get on your mat 2- 3 times each week, it’s SO GOOD!
WALK – each morning, along the beach, in nature or simply around the block. Get out early and enjoy each new day.
PLAY – dance at home to your favourite song, go for a game of tennis, play with your kids on the beach or in the garden.
RIDE – bike ride around centennial park, down to the shops instead of driving, with your kids as they scooter or skate.
SWIM – the water is warming up soon, visit one of our amazing ocean pools in Sydney. Up here on the Northern Beaches we have some outstandingly gorgeous pools. Take a dive in the ocean and feel the innate connection and energy all around.

5. Relax
My personal favourite!
PAUSE – Spend some time each day getting quiet and tuning in.
BREATHE – Conscious awareness of you natural breath, gently in and gently out. Take three breaths to calm you down in any stressful situation.
ALIGN – Feeling the rhythm of the day, the season and how you feel in the moment.
BATHE – take a long soak in a bath with a few drops of Lavender oil or Epsom salts, light a candle and allow yourself some “you’ time.
TURN OFF – all devices, TV’s, radios, internet. We are overloaded, full to the brim! Give your nervous system and a well deserved rest.
